The WAPIS Gambia has begun a three-day training session in data quality and protection.
According to the statement released by the organiser, the training will hold February 28th to the 2nd of March 2023.
The WAPIS program, which centres on data quality and data protection in The Gambia, is holding at The GPF Credit Union’s Conference hall.
The training session will be conducted by a delegation from INTERPOL, including Ms. Mariana Yetongnon, WAPIS Legal Counsel, Mr. Mohamed Yansaneh, ECOWAS Coordinator, and Mr. Carlo GONZALEZ YEPES, Country Officer for The Gambia.
The Director of WAPIS Gambia, Lamin N. Bajinka, along with his team of Systems Administrator, Inspector Modou Samateh, Chief Validation Officer, ASP Lamin Barrow, and data operators, are the target participants for the training session, the statement revealed.
The training session was officially opened on behalf of the IGP by the Commissioner of Police and Head of the National Central Bureau of INTERPOL, Pa Alieu Jawara.
Other speakers at the event included the ECOWAS INTERPOL Coordinator, Mr. Muhamed YASANEH, and the Single Point of Contact, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pateh Bah.
The Impact of WAPIS is to strengthen the capacity of officers, share information and enhance collaboration in the fight against national and transnational crimes.
