2022 YouthConnnekt Summit: Banjul Mayor commends UNDP, NYC

The Banjul Mayoress, Malick Lowe has commended the leadership of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and New York City over the success of the Year 2022 YouthConnnekt.

In a statement on Friday September 16, 2022, Lowe also appreciated the Gambian leadership, especially the Minister of Youth and Sports, Bakary Y. Badgie, and the Executive Director NYC, Alagie Jarju, for their overwhelming support.

“My sincere congratulations to the National Youth Council of The Gambia for a successful YouthConnekt Summit 2.0,” Lowe said.

She added, “I was very impressed and deeply touched by what I saw at the event – the talents and energy the youth demonstrated all over as well as their level of confidence. I wish to thank all the stakeholders who came all out to support our youth.”

Lowe also congratulated the United Nations Development Programme Country Representative, Madam Aissata De, for the wonderful support to the young ones.

“The Executive Director Mr Alagie Jaju and his team – I sincerely thank you on behalf of all The Gambian mums for taking care of our youth, especially the vulnerable ones.

“To Mam Lisa Camara (The Youth Ambassador) and Isatou Secka, words can’t express how proud I am seeing you maneuvering in the so call male domain,” she said.
