Egypt grants license for local electric car factory, production set to begin by end of 2024

In a significant development for the automotive industry in Egypt, the Egyptian cabinet has officially granted a golden license to the private company EgyptSat Auto, enabling it to establish and operate a state-of-the-art factory dedicated to the production of electric vehicles (EVs).

This landmark decision is expected to see electric cars, buses, motorcycles, and charging stations rolling out from the factory’s assembly lines by the end of 2024.

With a total investment of EGP 300 million, the factory will sprawl over an expansive 50,000 square meters of land, strategically located in the 10th of Ramadan city.

EgyptSat Auto, the recipient of this pivotal golden license, is a private local auto manufacturer that was founded in March 2023.
