Mayor of Banjul, Malick Lowe, commends progress in dumpsite clearing, market waste collection

In a recent visit to the ongoing dumpsite clearing operation and market waste collection in Banjul, Mayor Malick Lowe expressed her satisfaction with the progress and praised the dedicated efforts of the teams involved.

The Mayor’s visit to the dumpsite came after the commencement of clearing works earlier in the day.

She was notably pleased with the commitment and dedication demonstrated by the team on site.

The project aims to enhance waste management in the city and tackle the longstanding issue of dumpsite management.

In her address, Mayor Malick Lowe also extended her commendations to Mr. Alagie Jah, the head of waste management, and Councilor Tunko Jammeh for their outstanding leadership in overseeing the initiative.

She also recognized the efforts of the security team, highlighting their commitment to ensuring the successful execution of this crucial project, which is expected to significantly improve the council’s waste management capabilities.

Furthermore, the Mayor, in collaboration with NDMA (National Disaster Management Agency) officials, conducted an inspection at the market to monitor the progress of waste collection activities.

Expressing her satisfaction with the results, Mayor Lowe commended the Waste Management Department for their swift action in ensuring that no waste is left unattended in the public space of the market.
